The Council for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the UMKC Henry W. Bloch School of Management have announced the honorees for the 28th Annual Entrepreneur of the Year Awards celebration.

A total of 25 winners, including special awards and awards with distinction, were announced on Saturday.

John Norton, Managing Director of the Regnier Institute has been selected for a Fulbright Specialists project in Indonesia at Universitas Ciputra.

The United States Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship recently awarded the University of Missouri-Kansas City the “Best Workshop” award at the 2013 national conference in January.

Gray skies could not dampen the enthusiasm of the crowd gathered to watch the “topping out” ceremony, when the last beam is placed at the top of a building, for the new Henry W. Bloch Executive Hall for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

More than 500 people from the Kansas City community joined The Council for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the UMKC Henry W. Bloch School of Management for the 27th annual Entrepreneur of Year Awards.

The Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) announced that both their graduate and undergraduate entrepreneurship programs have been ranked among the top 20 in the nation by Princeton Review.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City and the UMKC Foundation have received a $3 million gift from the Regnier Family Foundations to endow the Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, housed in the Henry W. Bloch School of Management.

A paper coauthored by the UMKC School of Law professors Tony Luppino and Malika Simmons and IEI Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship, John Norton was published by the Kauffman Foundation as a Kauffman Paper yesterday.

Award criteria included innovative program elements, quality of faculty and school, program comprehensiveness, nature and level of student support, and impact on the discipline, the students, and the community.

UMKC today announced that it has been ranked as the world's No. 1 university in Innovation Management Research by the Journal of Product Innovation Management.
