This 3-credit course
tests the entrepreneurial acumen and stamina of students
from all disciplines across campus. ENT 215, 315 (undergraduate) and ENT 515 (graduate)
Class sessions include a variety of lectures, film cases,
text case discussions, guest speakers, and an assortment of
class exercises.
Students learn how
strategy, marketing, financing, legal matters, and cash flow
impact opportunities in terms of execution and growth and
how to position a new firm for success. The course
encourages students to reflect on their own entrepreneurial
potential and to evaluate entrepreneurship as a potential
career path.
Even those who do not feel that they are
entrepreneurs will benefit by discovering how to function
more effectively in entrepreneur-led organizations.
Furthermore, those responsible for technical innovation, and
business development within existing organizations should
find this course helpful.
These
courses are open to all UMKC students.
Boot Camp Fall 2007
Six teams were announced as
the winner's of this fall's Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Boot Camp.

Taking first place, and
$1,000, in the undergraduate track
were Andrew Boykin, Ahmet Dagbasi, and Cory Griffin for SUR
Clips, a portable and personal GPS locater.

In the graduate track, the first place trophy and $1,000
went to Michele Gray, Margaret Jahnke, Richard Moritz,
Michael Orallo, and Shay Weaver for Revolve, a
self-filtrating water bottle.

Idea Competition held by the Institute of Entrepreneurship
and Innovation at UMKC’s Bloch School.
The
competition comes on the heels of the four-weekend “Boot Camp”
class.
