GSA Small Business Networking Breakfast

Come be a part of the Networking Meeting that has been going strong the first Tuesday of every month for seventeen years!!
This monthly event is a great way to connect with other business owners, government agencies & business development resource organizations and network over a delicious breakfast.
Besides good food, door prizes and a friendly and upbeat atmosphere, everyone is introduced quickly and efficiently, and attendees have the opportunity to sign-up for 2-minute introductions at a future event to introduce their product or service.
This month, the GSA Networking Breakfast will be held at the Kauffman Foundation ~4801 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, MO 64110.
Fee Info: $18.00 if pre-registered by noon on the Friday before.
$20.00 for those who pay at the door the day of the event.

FastTrac® NewVenture™ for Dislocated Workers: Session 6

In FastTrac® NewVenture™, a program of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City, you will look at all aspects of your proposed company, exploring the feasibility of your business concept and learning how to develop a viable business plan. Participants will learn about start-up issues and learn to address the competition, legal matters, marketing and financial management aspects. FastTrac® participants don't just learn about business, they work on their own business endeavors throughout the course. This program is fast-paced and energizing, using guest speakers and lots of group breakout activities. *This 32-hour training is offered one day a week for 5 weeks. *Participants must attend all sessions.
*Dislocated workers include those who have been downsized or have entered early retirement. Individuals who have been let go and are now in jobs for which they are overqualified are also eligible. Dislocated workers can attend this class at no charge if 1) a Missouri resident or 2) dislocated from a Missouri company. The normal $300.00 fee is covered by the Missouri Division of Workforce Development. **Participants who do not meet the above criteria are welcome to attend by paying the full course tuition.

The Basics of Writing a Business Plan

This three-hour offering is for current and future business owners and entrepreneurs who have little or no knowledge of writing a business plan. "The Basics of Writing a Business Plan" is designed for business owners and managers who need to know how to create a business plan for their organization so the plan can be a useful management tool. During this course, participants will learn the importance of business plans, the key required elements of a basic plan and data that must be included. Participants will also get tips on writing style to make the business plan easier to understand and more professional in appearance. Participants will leave this session with a greater understanding of what their business plan should look like and how to get started writing one. It will also provide guidelines for style and appearance to help create a professional look for your business plan. Discussions are facilitated by business counselors who will help you examine your individual situation, explore opportunities and discover new ideas.
